Even this noski has skied Mad River Glen. My bumper sticker has been cut/pasted to say "Mad River Glen- If I Can You Can"

Hi all - i too was wondering where to go around that same time of year - mid to late march. i have narrowed it down to 3 choices and was looking for some advice. Stowe, Jay Peak or Sugarbush. i know what stowe and jay have to offer having been there before but both times very early in the season - never been to SB though. Any thoughts on it and which of the 3 are my best bet that part of the season? thanks jay

I have not been there in ages... but isn't Smugglers Notch usually pretty high on the list for intermediate groomers?

The wife and I are planning a 4 day trip to VT in mid-March. While we like Killington, the lack of a happening happy hour has us thinking about changing our destination.

Here's the deal, she's an intermediate skier at best. She's very happy and content to skid her way through the greens and blues. She doesn't inspire to become a better skier. To her, it's just fun. This trip is entirely for her to enjoy.

So I'm looking for suggestions for someplace where she'll have a blast on long groomers that has free wings at happy hour. Ok so I'm only semi-kidding on that last part, but having Blackbeary Wheat on tap is a bonus.

We're thinking, Stratton (got the free tickets), Okemo or Mt. Snow. Suggestions welcome? Oh yeah, cheap decent lodging with a pool and/or hot tub area also welcome.

Ski at Stowe..Blackberry Wheat on tap at the Sunset Grille..you need a break from Killington and Stowe is the ticket..The Town and Country is cheap and decent with an indoor pool and hottub..

ok...to much focus on HH. More focus on easy laid back groomers please...MRG doesn't sound like her cup of tea
I skied at MRG my first ever season skiing; I'm sure she could handle it. I had a great time and can't wait to get back! Just my 2 cents, though...

Not that she will really care, but I will probably be at Stowe March 18-20(ct ski council days)
Won't you miss the potential AZ SB thing, then? :( Or will you be extending your stay in VT? ;)

Our plans are to hit the MRV in March at some point... why do I mention this? I'm probably close to your wife's ski level. My preference is actually MRG over SB.

I also learned to ski at MRG. When the snow is good, Antelope will be the coolest trail she's ever skiied. If the snow is not so good, Stowe and the Bush offer up great cruising each with a big resort feel for the east. Multiple Mtn's at each, great scenery...amenities, although I would have to give the Valley an advantage for being less discustingly developed then Stowe.
