I'm headed to Sugarbush south on Sunday the 11th and MRG on Monday the 12th. Sounds like great conditions are awaiting with both resorts 100% open. Anyone have any particular trails to recommend for good bumps or conditions? I'd like to tackle Steins, Mall, Paradise, Liftline, and Rumbler at south as well as Fall Line and Paradise at MRG. They pretty good right now? Also, if there anything spectacular at north that would make me want to take the SBE over for an hour or so?

Just wanted to mention to mention that it is supposed to very cold on Monday so bring the warmest you got. From your post it sounds like FIS and Exterminator over at ME should be on your list. Several skiers/riders over at www.skimrv.com have posts of recent skiing. Not much regarding MRG but there is a link to a steller recent TR by Salida on First Tracks

Hope for more snow between now and the 11th ! Everything is open but not necessarily deep cover.

FIS, Bravo, Exterminator, Cliffs, Hammerhead , Tumbler all worth the trip to Mt Ellen

Everything is open at MRG, but watch out for those random rocks between bumps. Have a good time, two days of kickass skiing!! I'm jealous

Right now, at least with regard to natural snow runs, it's all about "love your skiing, not your skis." Anything that is steep AND natural snow has lots of teeth lurking, but is generally skiing quite nicely.

I did 4 runs in Castlerock yesterday AM and the cleanest of the runs was Castlerock Run - Liftline and Middle Earth had some great fluffy sections, but also had a lot of rock elsewhere. The difference between Mall (natural snow) and Steins (manmade base) was also remarkable.

On Wed night we skinned and skied off the double at Mad River Glen with headlamps. We did Quacky -> Canyon -> One Way. Again, really fun skiing, remarkably edgeable and ice-free, but there were sparks flying everywhere.

None of this is going to keep me from skiing whatever/whenever I can, but every time I look at my bases, I am amazed at how fast they are deteriorating....ah well...que sera, sera.

Be sure to write detailed TRs, Zand. I'm bringing the tribe up there for Dead Prez's week.
