Trip Report:
Tonight was chilly, not too bad. The place was empty and quiet. Great night to be out.
Conifer: Almost the whole trail was receiving snowmaking, but the cold temperatures kept it easy to go through and not sticky. No ski patrollers tonight which meant going fast. It's amazign how much this trail was deserted today. Usually it seems like the whole mountain is on it, but there were runs I literally saw no one. My firend wiped out and got a concussion, broke his thumb, and had a bruised tailbone. Ouch.
10th: Only skiied upper today, but it was awesome and the upper part under the lift should be open soon. This trail was also snowmaking top to bottom.
Smith: Again snowmaking, but only until the bottom of upper. The trail was great today and fast, but I think Conifer had it for best trail of the day. NOTE: No afternoon grooming. However, the excellent snowmaking made up for it.
Ralph's Run: Tried to help 2 girls from my school snowboard, but one kept finding the trees and the other was just plain slow. LOL. The trail had TONS of huge whales at the bottom with some big air.
Ollie's: LOL, also for the sake of "Teacher for a day". LOL. I screwed around the whole time and went down it backwards, with 1 ski, etc. Once, I walked up the hill instead of riding the carpet and it took like 2 minutes less. LOL.
Indian Summer: Same as above. I haven't been up there in over a year, so it was a little odd. Good for beginners and I actually like it a bit better than Ralph's Run.
Those are it. I didn't ski mich as we were mostly in the lodge unthawing, in Ski Patrol, or spending the 2 hours getting beginners down Ralph's Run. LOL.
