Trip Report:
Trip #12 to Wachusett and #13 on the season consisted of good conditions, but the place was PACKED. Not too much to say for this one... temps in the upper 10s and snowmaking on Upper Conifer, Lower 10th, and Lower Balance Rock.
Balance Rock/Conifer: Balance Rock was all scraped up and it was nearly impossible to turn without sliding into whatever loose stuff was left to the side. From there, Conifer had great loose stuff to the side to make nice snappy turns in.
10th/Salamander: 10th was very nice for big GS turns the entire way. Salamander was pretty good on the straight with snowmaking on the bottom part. Not too many visibility problems or anything like that. Good runs.
Smith: First off, what's with the BARE SPOTS on the upper part of the trail? Theres 3 or 4 and they were very noticeable both times I skiied it. Blow some snow up there Wa. The trail was decent with skiers right being the best for the loose stuff like usual. Lower was fast with air over the mounds. Polar was in full speed with a 3-5 minute line.
Look Ma: The terrain park is officially open. I got my pass and took plenty of runs. Right now, the run consists of over 10 rails, 3 boxes, 2 small jumps, and 2 large jumps. Some things are a bit off, but the park is in its beginning stages and they'll be fixed soon. Minuteman was running faster than normal, but with a 10 minute line and no organization what-so-ever.
I might be back Friday, pending a snow day.
