Date(s) Skied: Sunday Night 2/22/09

Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett, MA

Conditions: 2" WET Powder, Wasn't really snowing as much as it was slushing, 30s

Trip Report:

Only made it an hour tonight before I was too soaked for it to even be fun anymore. Extremely wet snow falling. It'll be nice when it dries out and the conditions were good, but I just couldn't take being soaked to the bone. Jackets, snowpants, gloves, goggles all worthless and soaked through in 2 runs. Place was deserted.

10th: Bumps were nice but still slick underneath. Took a spill and my arm slammed my pole which left a bruise. Also couldn't see a damn thing. Took Salamander which had less powder depth. Rest of the trail was slow.

Smith: Steep was a bit scraped and random bumps all over the place. Hole in the Wall is skiable again. Lower Smith was wet and slow.

Hitchcock: Took one run... nothing changed in the park, still just 2 boxes, 2 rails, and a mound at the end.

Look Ma: Had to go nonstop to get speed for the jumps. Fun enough for one run, but was too wet to really have anymore fun.

Don't know if I'll get back up before 24 hour night.

If only the snow line was a bit further south or east...:???:

I was hoping for some soft snow to play around in tomorrow evening...any hope, or will it be all solid?

Whatever doesn't blow away should be soft. But that might be a problem... windblown.
