Date(s) Skied: Monday Night 2/23/09

Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett, MA

Conditions: Excellent PP, Windy with temps in the low 20s

Trip Report:

Great night tonight... like I thought, yesterday's powder dried out and made for excellent PP all over the mountain today. Crowds were low and nonexistant after 7.

Conifer: Took one run shortly after grooming which was excellent cruising. Good, fast, and fun.

10th: Bumps were bulletproof under the powder so stayed out for the most part. The rest of the trail was nice cruising.

Smith: Saw a few slick spots in the middle but I stayed far enough right to stay clear of it. Like the rest of the mountain, just great cruising.

Hitchcock: 2nd box was sticky and sent me for a loop. Otherwise, unchanged and nice snow outside the park.

Look Ma: Also unchanged, good conditions for the jumps.

Tonight was most likely my last night till 24 hour night.

I was there from 4:30 to about 6:00...conditions were nice with a few scraped spots. Managed to hit Smith once just after it was groomed and the steep section was real sweet. Even with all of the school kids around the lift waits were all under 5 minutes.

I did try the bumps once but the backsides were icy...not good for learning. Next time I should enter the field at the shallower section at the bottom...
