Trip Report:
Yet another day at Wachusett proved to be chilly yet again with temps in the single numbers most of the night with a breeze. Not as crowded as a typical Friday night, but still a pretty good crowd.
Balance Rock/Conifer: Balance was a little better than Wednesday, but still on the slick side in the middle. Lower was the same. Conifer was good before grooming, then I got first tracks after grooming. Just an amazing run.
10th: They managed to blow a couple whales right in the middle of the moguls and they're all irregular and weird once again. The troughs were pretty scraped, but the bumps were soft. The trail was decent, but extremely crowded. I don't understand why, but everyone decided they wanted to be on 10th tonight.
Smith: After grooming, the best hidden secret on the mountain. I didn't ski it before grooming. Literally 3 hours after grooming, the run was still perfect. I don't understand why the trail wasn't chewed up at all. It was strange seeing 10th scraped and Smith perfect, especially on a windy day. Polar was in full speed and most of the night had no more than a 25 chair wait.
Hitchcock: The jumps in the park are still murdered and everyone is pissed about it. If they're gonna ruin the run for a park and put the mounds in, why not leave the jumps there? They were certainly small enough to be in a beginner park. Anyway, got nice fresh tracks down Frannie's as well.
Look Ma: All of it is unchanged since Wednesday. They fixed up the pipe and it's shaped very nice now, but still seemed a little weird. They'd just groomed it though so it was pretty good.
Ralph's: Pretty good. Still some whales towards the bottom to go over and the rest of the trail was nice for some short turns. Minuteman was a little short of full speed with around a 5 minute wait.
Well, that wraps up this chapter. Next up: Sugarbush Sunday and MRG Monday.
