Date(s) Skied: Saturday 4/3/10
Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett, MA
Conditions: Spring, Sunny, Upper 70s
Trip Report:
Got up there around 1:30 and hit the open stuff a bunch of times. 10th was the only trail open up top until Smith opened around 2:30 or 3. 10th was nice above and below the steep which was all slush. Smith had very small ribbons linking patches of deeper snow. Pretty much just survival skiing up top. Lift was running at a crawl as it was already also running as the skyride.
Look Ma, Challenger, and Ralph's were in better shape. Obviously each one had a few nasty spots but not nearly as bad as up top. A few kickers to hit on Look Ma which I skied repeatedly. Minuteman was much less annoying as it was in normal speed.
Well... a fun last day at Wachusett. Now I'm down to a few weekend days at Sugarbush until they close and then if anyone else is open past them maybe one more (hopefully the Superstar glacier pushes Killington a week or two into May).
