Awesome news for the ski industry..As much as I hate crowded days..it's good to see the local ski areas staying off NELSAP..and the extra revenue means more improvements..

Serious Stoke..I want the sport of skiing to grow..

I'm wondering if a lot of casual skiers are staying closer to home this season because of fuel costs?

ding ding ding..alot of people I meet wouldn't think of driving 6-7 hours to ski or hopping on a plane..the local resorts will do in the currently financial downturn..

I think this is more just awesome news for Wachusett.. a place that is nowhere near going NELSAP and hasn't been for a long time. The snow has been nice for places like Ascutney, Whaleback, Tenney (insert the name our your local struggling resorts) places actually in NELSAP danger but those places are NOT selling out or even close.

I was there today. Lift lines are usually ok til 10-10:30 but today, it was already like 10 minutes wait by 9AM. Polar Express had issue in the afternoon, stopping for more than 15 minutes, run for 10 minutes or so and then down another 10 minutes or so.

Polar's back to having as many problems as early season. Something in that lift needs a fix this summer.
