Straight from their snow report: "We should be open as early was Sunday!"

I can't believe my litle home hill is only gonna precede Killington by a day and beat tons of other big mountains up north, not to mention they'll be top-to-bottom.

Not to burst the bubble, but it only says "should," which is the same as, "we might...we'll try..." Which is good news. Not trying to be :argue: or :dunce: here, but just to give you fair notice. If they open, awesome...take pics for us!

I'm not a picture guy, unfortunately. I don;t even have a digital camera and my scanner is down so I couldn't post disposable pictures. And this is Wachusett we're talking about, use their webcam to take your own pictures like in September.

It looks like they'll be blowing on Conifer and Challenger tonight as those are the only trails with the lights on right now. I'd assume they'll expand a lot by next Friday.

I'm confused... Isn't KMart opening Saturday?

wow, i find that hard to believe, especially since it poured last night, and hasn't been that cold.

Why does that matter, they havent made any snow yet and have none of the ground, so whatever happened this pass week doesnt matter at all(except ground temp. but that doesnt matter that much)

Ground temp was a bit of an issue earlier today as most of the snow ended up in a big puddle, but it's starting to freeze now and the snow is building up. It's looking pretty good for Sunday and next Friday is looking incredible.

This week is the first time ever (I think) that they'll be open ON Thanksgiving. They've opened earlier before, but I don't think they made it the whole week. If they are open, Wednesday Night and Thursday that place will be a MADHOUSE. As Alice In Chains once sang, "I stay away."

Hey, how much you think lift tickets will be friday? Theres a chance I will be there if it is cheap enough. Ill have my license and my parents would probably let me go there by myself but most likely not wildcat.

Friday will depend on what they have open. At this point, it'll looks like they'll have a lot open by then and that would lead them to charge normal weekday rates (Turkey day and Friday are NOT holidays at Wawa).

On Sunday, I doubt it'll be any higher than $15. No $40 crap like Killington.

I am so ready to ski. Also, I heard that Wachusett is part of that new Go Ski Card, too.

I've got a call in to my "source" to find out about 1) Sunday and 2)lift ticket prices for limited terrain.

I'll edit this post if I hear anything.

I put in some pics off of the webcam in the gallery. They show the change after 24 hours as well as a few other pics. It looks like they might start on 10th and Ollie's tonight.

4 PM Friday, the web cam showed 4 kids at the bottom of Challenger in full snow gear, with snowboards, playing around a jib buried in the snow! I really doubt it's gonna be anything other than a repeat of last year, with a thin Challenger and Conifer open.

Ask your source about the feasibility of a very early Saturday morning poach, with rock skis. Purely hypothetical, not as if anything of that sort would ever take place in real life..... :D

I hope it isn't a repeat of last year. Those first 2 weeks just sucked. Conifer and Challenger were the only runs open for a week and a half and both very narrow and thin. A small storm finally came and put some snow down.

I think they're thinking a lot about last year while making the decision for this Sunday. They had Conifer and Challenger covered edge to edge with 9 days of snowmaking by November 18th last year. They never opened and everything washed away and they opened on 24 hours of snowmaking in December (which they've had already this year).

I think they'll be open Sunday and Monday and then close Tuesday-Thursday and reopen Friday. The last thing they need is to be open on Thanksgiving with 2 trails.

I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning and see how much they have put down. I'll be up at 7:30 Sunday and get there for 7:50 and hope for first chair. They'll have to turn the guns off again tomorrow during midday, but temps are going back to the low 20s tomorrow night so they should be able to put down a few more inches before Sunday. I'm not expecting ice Sunday with temps heading for the upper 40s.

I don't have my century pass yet, but it won't matter. I'm having a bronze mailed to me (soon, hopefully) so they are void on weekends. That's okey, $15 is pretty cheap.
