Go away again. Nothing but misery for as far as the eye can see on Tomer's update today.

Snowbird reported another 7" last night (Jan 8-9).
Actually, I recently pulled the trigger on a trip to the French and Swiss Alps over the last 11 days of this month (January 2026). This was not on the radar until about a month ago and not decided until a few days ago. That should mean good snow coming to UT ;)
From what I understand it was not a great early winter in the Alps, but the areas I'm headed to are getting a good dump right now. Last time I skied the Alps was 2003.

If the trip doesn't get too hectic I'll report back here on my findings. Going to Chamonix and the Jungfrau regions.

Ski it now. I have gotten 2 powder days in the last week. Today was pretty close to having a third one...

It will be very busy this weekend.

Park City only gets maybe 60% the snow Alta/Snowbird does, so it's not looking like where you ski. It is definitely much, much better than it's been, but it's still not great. We need a few more feet. At least they were able to get Jupiter open late today (of course I was at Canyons & didnt get that rope drop), and rumor has it King Con will open this weekend, which will help tremendously as that pod is Park City's officially designated Jerry-collector.
