Apparently they're really serious about catching speeders in North Troy, on the way to Jay Peak.

So watch your speed!

6 years ago, I got pulled over outside Montreal going 15 kph over the limit. They demanded $120 CDN cash on the spot or I'd go to jail.

I'm all for reciprocity. Any French Canadian pulled over in North Troy should either pay the $100 fine on the spot or get jail time in Guantanamo Bay.

You should be posting in "The Grateful Thread" more Jim. BTW, I had a nice long conversation about your town today while I was on 17 on the way back from Bethel.

Just read the article. It is circulating online. I think that Bill Stenger is walking a fine line...he doesn't want to be arguing for dangerous drivers or promoting what would be making roads unsafe. I think his proposal to erect a sign with lights advising drivers to slow down is a good compromise. I don't think that police should be targeting or "profiling" drivers but I don't think tthat skiers and riders of Jay Peak should get a "get out of jail free card" for reckless driving.

Nothing bad at all. My friend is an Oneonta grad who claims to know a lot about "upstate NY." I decided to call him on it and picked your town to see what he knows. (I had recalled your conversation with a new member recently.) Turns out our good friend's Uncle lives there. He was just describing the town, where it is/demographics, and what not.

Whew!

Seriously, I live in a nice area. Rural and quiet.

The loudest noises I hear come from the wildlife.
