I was just reading the forecast discussion for my area, and the NOAA meteorologists are talking about a major pattern change occuring around October 16th, that may lead to artic air coming south into the Great Lakes and New England, YES, YES, YES.

Hopefully the stupid blocking high pressure system moves away. The bad news is that New England may get 5-10" of rain by saturday.

Hopefully it may get cold enough for some lake effect with that arctic blast. The lakes are at record warmth, which is a VERY good thing as a third of my forecasted 50" is off of lake moisture. And all of the WV resorts depend on the lakes for more than half their snow. Particuarrly Snowshoe,WV, which chalks up 100" of snow off the lakes. They avereage 180", so we are dependant on them. But that will be a prayer.

But this is extremely good news as the entire NE is about 4-5 degrees above average. Thanks loafer ;-)

The accuweather long range now has mention of rain/snow showers for Killington, at least one can be hopefull.

NOAA is saying that the pattern change may be significant and I hope it lasts.
