Date(s) Skied: 1/4/11 (Night Session)
Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett
Conditions: Man made with a nice helping of ice.

Headed up afterwork yesterday. In the car at 6:05 at WaWa by 7:00. Picture for pass and on the hill by 7:20.

First run was up the Mid Mt Express, took Hitchcock for a warm up and headed over to the Polar Express lift.

Lapped 10th to lower 10th most of the night. Middle of the trail was skied off and icey, sides had some fluff. Far skiers right was the best route down, but far skiers left was also fun. Took Smith a few times that was skied off more than 10th.

Overall better than I expected. With no lines I was able to got a good amount of runs in before calling it quits around 8:45. Hit the Copper Top for a pint or 2, They have Tuckerman Plae Ale on Tap which is nice!

Ski/board check still there and free.

Did it look like they'd done a grooming pass in the afternoon, or did it look scraped off from the whole day's traffic?

That seems kinda long. Takes me 35 minutes maybe 40 with traffic and you're not that far from me. What route do you take?

They always do an afternoon groom, but the school crowds can work that off pretty quick.

Left the Southboro Train station and took, 9, to 495, to 117(hit traffic), to 190, to 2.

Next time I will do 495 to 2 and skip the 117 "shortcut", unless you have a shorter route for me.

I take, 290>190>140 not sure if that works from Southboro. You should give it a shot anyway. But if you stick with rt2 117 is faster even with traffic.
