What do you fantasize about (we’re talking skiing here) to get you through days like last Monday. Whose useless 90+ degree days were all you what to do is set on the bottom of the pool or in someplace air-conditioned. Where you can feel like you’re a captive in your own house because it’s just to damn hot to go outside. I myself tend to rely on memories of some of the better days, whether it’s because of one great run, or skiing with great people, someplace new or all of the above. Anything to keep my wandering mind off the inhuman heat.

I think people overreacted to the "heat wave". Yeah, it was hot. It's also climatologically summer, pretty much. Kinda reminded me of the mass hysteria when snow storms are predicted - people hitting the grocery store for milk and batteries. It's June now. It gets hot from time to time....

Agreed. I mean that was about as hot as it gets around here...(give or take maybe 5 degrees). Wasn't too bad. My AC made it. And it warmed up the pool ....which was super cold since there is no heater.

Anyway, cool storms last night and it did feel nice out on the road for my morning bike ride....

But (given no AC or heat troubles) its always 72 and sunny in my office.

I didn't really feel captive to my house since I have no AC. I kinda prefer to tough it out through the heat with the help of fans and water. While I do prefer AC sometimes and it is nice, I don't like the huge temperature swings you get from living in AC to going outside. The heat won't keep me inside as I basically try to do what the weather allows for. On hot days like we've had I skip on rock climbing, running, and sometimes (rarely) biking, and instead go kayaking - Then if I get hot I just do a roll :)

I went for a bike ride on the hot days and thankfully there is a river in the park - after the ride I cooled off in the river.

I try to visualize myself ice climbing from time to time.

I'm looking forward to buying another pair of fat skis and another pair of ice coast carvers..another steeze jacket..and all the cool ski trips I'm taking next ski season...plus in 2.5 weeks..I'm off work for a week and going to Virginia with my family and I'm going to spend the week golfing, sea kayaking, eating crab, drinking beer and smoking fat doobies.

For early June four days of 90-something temps and high humidity is really hot..

No skiing, ... last monday, I was trying to figure out if the last scene soundtrack from Kill Bill 2 was the same as Estacy of Gold from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

BTW, I got this thing for Uma and spaghetti westerns.....:smash:

Surfing would have been great during the heat but a key aspect was missing... Why fantasize? You could break the bank and be skiing A$pen this weekend...

Perhaps. But I don't recall any records being broken, so it's been hotter...

Actually, IIRC, a few records were broken and/or tied around here. Just saying. I didn't really find it to be that bad, then again I was inside with AC for most of the time it was in the 90's. 8) Like you said though, that's just what happens in the summer. Gotta get used to it, unfortunately...

Lately it's been OxyCodone. ;-)

I did have weird combo ski and bike dream last night. Probably all the recent posting on mtn bikes and the fact that I can't do either right now. :x

Those things look like fun to ride downhill, but I bet they're a bitch to ride back up!
There were quite a few of those on this hill at A-basin actually. I meant to watch how they got back up on the lift but drank too much beer to remember.

So who finished off the six pac for you ?
 Seriously, I had 1 beer the first day, 2 the 2nd day. But I hadn't eaten a lot and it was elevation so it affected me more than usual. It was okay. I was done skiing when I had them so I was just focusing on relaxing at the time anyway. :D Mmmmmm.... Fat Tire.
