I think we just hear about them more.
Can't remember the last time I heard of a workplace rampage, though.

Short memory?

An Army psychiatrist who opened fire at Fort Hood, Texas, killing 12 people and wounding 31 others, was shot but captured alive, military officials said late Thursday.

The gunman, identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was wounded at the scene but was captured alive and was in stable condition, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone, commanding general of the Army’s III Corps, said at a press conference late Thursday.

Very short. That was 9 months ago, though, so not entirely recent.

The Fort Hood shootings were not an issue of going "postal." That was just an attack in a war. This guy knew he was going to do it long before he walked into the recruiters office. He had a long history of anti-american comments and pro-radicalism support and somehow got through the intense screening process for potential officers.

Thanks for the insight.
