Ski resorts need good lawyers and good insurance policies..we're in America a sue happy country..that's why I'm about to presalt all the paths and walkways at work in a few..so some old lady doesn't sue us when she falls and breaks her hips..

And just where do you think Ski areas get money to pay for these types of things...???

just because some old biddy sues you doesnt make it right to sue a ski area...

Yeah... and have GSS cheering them on.... :(

I'm just saying that if it's neglect on the ski area..then they should get sued...maybe the employees at Vail should have more safety meetings so this does not happen again..

Do you really look at the seat everytime you get on a chairlift?? I always just assume the seat is there and sit down..

Same with your toilet seat?
if i go to you apt and take a dump.... And the seat is up and get water all over myself and i'm embarassed... Should i sue you for that?

Kind of makes a case for wearing bib style ski pants!  ;)

I can only imagine what the call from the lift ops to either their supervisor and/or the patrol sounded like for that one!

And the restraint it must have taken for the folks helping the guy out in the picture to keep from breaking out laughing is impressive!

Are you anti.suing just for ski resorts or in general??? If you were riding a chairlift and the chair fell off the line..would that be reason to sue a ski area..

If I got hurt and had a reason to have the $ - like no insurance... sure...

But you insist that people just sue cause something went wrong... And thats low class...

But the guy isn't hurt! Why sue? To prove a point? for personal gain at everyone elses expense..?

He's not physically hurt but emotionally scarred..I'm sure a good lawyer could have a case against Vails lift department..cha ching..

So if something goes wrong you're supposed to just accept it???? Luckily I've had no reason to sue anybody...yet..

So what? So it's Vail... Whatever... Somebody from a little po-dunk area in PA could be saying the same about Blue...

That same lawsuit at Blue would have a bad effect on your little "sessions".....

If your not hurt - why not? I'm sure the mountain will compensate you... They give people free hot cocoa because lifts stop... Just think what they'd give you for being cool and not suing cause your ass was hanging out...

What? This sort of thing isn't covered on the ticket liability waiver?

The guy's not hurt. He'll sue. And probably win because that's the way things work in our great country. But to hear someone rooting him on this quest is just as scary.
