How do you not notice the seat is up?
Does that lift have 2 sections for each bench? Most I've seen are one solid seat- why didn't the kid fall through?
I can understand how you could intentionally go ass-first through a hole, but not accidently, not in full ski gear, and not in a way that gets your pants pulled off.

Looking at the pictures some more, there's no way he "fell through the seat"- wouldn't both skis be stuck up, rather than just one?

Unless that lift has some really strange seat design, I'm assigning this one a "Dumbass" status.

From the pictures, I see one Vail personnel participating in the rescue. The remainder look like Joe ordinary skiers.

suffered from exposure? How long did they leave him hanging, so-to-speak?

I agree. How the heck could an adult basically fold themselves in 1/2 while wearing ski gear and be able to fit through the openings that the seat sits on an a HSQ?? That opening is atmost 18"

And that is what is so screwed up with this country. Can not take responsibility for our own actions. Must blame others so we can profit..........

Even if he doesnt have a case he will sue to get money, and that costs the mpountain a ton of oney in court fees and lawyer costs.

Well it's one think ski resorts have to deal with..and part of the reason why lift tickets are so expensive..reality..it's tough to change reality..it's easier to accept it..
