Anywhere i would say banff, in NE i would say...umm its tough, bar harbor area, baxter, oh ya lake umbagog, if you never heard of it, its on the maine Nh border north of berlin. There is about 40 campsites on the lake and the only way to get there is by boat, they are so spread apart and each has a nice beach

Most beautiful - Cruz Bay, St. John, US Virgin Islands. If the Garden of Eden wasn't there, it should have been.

Most beautiful New England - tough question. Maybe the bottom of the Great Gulf in the Presidentials? The big peaks are so impressive from there.

Living in Jackson, NH (10 mi from the Great Gulf) would be sweet if I could find a job that paid enough.......

Most beautiful place I've been is Banff and Kicking Horse... Outstanding views... I'd move there someday.. Maybe to Golden...

In NE the most starkly beatiful place is the Presidentials... Sitting on Mount Washington watching the start rise above Tuckerman Ravine after a sunset that washes the bowl in alpineglow...
I could see myself living in NH too...

OK, OK - the Matterhorn in Switzerland is probably the most impressive single thing I ever saw in my life. But - St. John is simply paradise. Weather, sky, water, lush greenery. Go there someday - you will not regret it.

Answers may surprise you.

Most "beautiful"? Wonder Lake in Alaska, no question.

Most "beautiful in New England"? Acadia.

Why am I not living there?

Quite simply my job description would not support it and I love my job (director:inner city kids).

The places above inspire me, thrill me and enthrall me. After a prolonged exposure I don't thing they would. My staff and especially my kids, ENGAGE me daily. That would be lost I think, at least for me, if I moved to those places.

Peace.

My all-time most beautiful: Bottom of the Grand Canyon

Honorable mentions: Monument Valley in Utah, Rocky Mt. National Park in Colorado

Best spots in New England: Summit of West Bond, 90% of the way up the Great Gulf Headwall, Summit of Mt. Jefferson, Knife Edge on Mt. Katahdin

Favorite spot accessible by motor vehicle: High point of the Kancamagus

The top of Rucu Pichincha (spelling on that?) outside of Quito, Ecuador stands out for me- it's an amazing view, and you have to work to get there.

Watching storms come up the Mogillon Rim in central Arizona ranks up there, too. As does Bryce Canyon, Utah.

Though, the sight of my shower and bed after a long ski day may trump them all. It has the added advantage of being where I live (which certainly makes getting dressed in the morning easier).

Most beautiful anywhere?
Bloody Bay Wall, Little Cayman, B.W.I.

In N.E.?
Tough call, either Franconia Notch, or the Rockport coast...

NE? I'm gonna have to go with Baxter State Park. Having the massif of Katahdin looming over everything makes for just some spectacular viewpoints.

The summit of West Bond is definitely a close second.

Yes, agreed. Zermatt was the most incredible place I've been with Ben Nevis in Scotland coming in a close second.

As for New England, the view from the top of Moosilauke, Lafayette, or Garfield is tops for me.
