Where to get a chair?

My wife actually suggested this which sorta surprised me. Over the next year or two, I plan to refinish my basement. Nothing crazy - just an office/playroom/TV room. We'd like to get our hands on an old chair from a lift and hang it somewhere in there. Anyone know of any being auctioned off currently? I know Butternut auctioned off the granny double a few years ago. I'd love to hold out and try to pick up a MRG single next year, but I'd imagine they're all gonna go for a pretty penny.

There's Mt. Cranmore Snomobiles for sale. The going rate is about $900, though.

Thought that would be really cool as it is really unique.

Otherwise, see if Leavitt the Dumber makes good on his threat to close Powder Ridge, maybe there will be some stuff auctioned off before the McMansion builders descend upon the land....

Bolton Valley has chairs from the old Vista double availble for $200 (plus tax) apiece, as is. They need to be retrofitted to some degree if you want to use them as indoor furniture, and they're only available when we can get to them (i.e. they're stored outdoors and we don't keep them shoveled and accessible all winter), and they are a pickup-only item. Call 802-434-3444, choose option 2 for Guest Services if you want to purchase one.

There's a thought.

RE: Ebay, it seems like it might be cost prohibitive to ship one of those chairs. Do they have shipping estimates in the autcions?

I know in one of the auctions it was local pick up only. The chair was in Illinois, but it only cost 31 dollars so balance it out

And one of the other ones, the chair was disassembled, so the shipping price would be reasonable, check out those links for the full details....

I heard Cranmore was selling off the North double chairs. I left my name but have not heard anything yet.

This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer and Newman decide to drive the empty bottles to Michigan in the mail truck to collect the 5 cent deposit refund on each.

I thought MI was 10 cents, that's what made it more attractive than the closer states that have 5 cent deposits...

Craig's list Boston has or at least had some for sale a few days ago for $200.00 complete double chairs. That is worth a look.

Those chairs have been neglected a long time. They're likley dangerous.

Leavitt isn't dumb. He's evil. Big difference.
