my friends and i were going to make a guys trip to Sugarbush this weekend until the NIAR this past weekend. based on some reports i read SB took a pretty big hit. the least suffered looks like whiteface, but it seems WF also got 1.5 hours of NCP as well. now we are torn.

anyone skiied WF in the last 48 hours? how's SB holding up? is it worth 6 hours drive?

I'm going back to SB tomorrow.....so watch for report and pics.

The decision depends on what you want to ski.

Certainly won't be prime conditions anywhere. I'm skiing Saddleback on Saturday for the first time. I wish I could expect it to be in perfect shape, but that's doubtful. Got a voucher to use though and it will more than likely be my last opportunity to use it, so I'm goin'

T.R. please. I'm curious to see how they bounce back. I bet they still have a ton of base.

Still have a couple vouchers to Wildcat, so I'll probably be there. Not that I'm all that optimistic about the conditions.

I was up at Sugarbush on Monday(LP) and Tuesday(ME) and thought the conditions were really good. They did groom quite a loot of the trails. I wouldn't hesitate to head up there if I was you, plenty of snow up there. If you are looking for tree skiing, that I heard was icy, but weather there was well in the 30's so it should loosen up.

And if you need a place to stay, hit up KingM at the Golden Lion, I was very pleased with my stay and his prices can't be beat.

Whiteface keep recovering evey day. In the past 24hrs I got three inches of snow in Lake Placid. I am guessing more on the hill. The forecast is calling for snow all week. Nothing big couple inches a day. The weather channel is calling for snow all weekend while channel 5 is calling for a mix friday night into Sat. I am thinking if we do get snow Friday and sat the hill will be fully recovered and the slides willbe prime. Not that they will open for a few more weeks

decided to hit WF next weekend and hit SB the following. the weather heads cannot make up their minds with this upcoming storm. some say rain some say snow. but, looks like it can dump a 6-12 inches in the catskills. if it does, likely will hit Hunter on sunday. haven't been there in ages.

glad to hear moutains recovering well. need to hit SB before the season is over.

I'm going to Hunter on Monday; I expect it to refreeze on Sunday night, leaving a hard fast surface.

Thinking of going to Whiteface on Wednesday; If I'm going to ski 3000' vertical on ice, in the rain, I want a discount.

there is a discount. checkout liftopia, you can get one for WF. report back on WF condition. will be driving up thursday night. planning to ski 3 days up there. think this will be my last WF trip of the season.
