We're going to get a day in this weekend. (keeping fingers crossed for good weather to make it a full weekend away next weekend).

I'm thinking Sunday will be the better day due to the weather tonight through tomorrow night. My thinking is a little precip and then the temps dropping will make for a hard day on Saturday. It's supposed to warm up on Sunday...but it won't be quite as clear and sunny. But I think at this time of year, the temperature the day you ski makes more of a difference than anything else.

Most likely going to decide between Hunter and Jiminy. Hunter will be free for us on Sunday...with our passes and Jiminy will be about 90 for the family. (30 x3 plus one free "green" tix). I'm a bit worried that Hunter won't be great for my girls...(would be great if I were solo this time of year!).

Thoughts??

I'm in same boat and have same feelings. Sunday will be the better of the two days.

debating between free @ hunter vs. discounted at a few different places. kinda want to ski Mt. Snow and hit bear trap a few times, but looking at today's report it might not be open.

will play it by ear and make a final decision late Sat night, based on any news i can get.

Hunter One is still open... Midstation down off the D lift is pretty mellow.. Belt Parkway is always a favorite of kids... On the Westside - Wayout is actually pretty easy... You can hit the tough stuff while they do the mellow..

Seeing if I can get dispensation for Sunday...want to hit an area as close to home as I can (MA or NH). I'm guessing that it will be too cold for anything to be enjoyable except groomers but I don't mind.

Wife and I are headed to Stowe for the weekend and have to get back to the kid on Sunday, so I have no choice. It's Saturday for me. Rather it be Sunday based on reports. Then again, I have Thu-Fri off for more skiing, so....whatever.

FYI, If you want to hit Bear Trap at Mount Snow, Sunday is the last day of the season for the entire Sunbrook/Bear Trap area of the mountain :(

Yes, but aren't they having that J-2 race near the midstation over there? And now with the weather not being that much warmer on Sunday...and definitely looking more cloudy...I'm back to learning towards Sat.

I haven't been to Butt'nut in years. I remember it being flat and relatively crowded...but I'm sure the crowds have dissipated and flat might not be too bad for my girls....Interesting. I do usually get a day or 2 in at Jiminy after Catamount closes. I should be good for Vermont for Easter weekend and the weekend after.

I'm actually happy about the freeze up. I like it soft to a point but when I'm disintigrating bumps it's gone a little to far! Belleayre should be perfect this Saturday. Nice fast groomers for the first few runs but that Spring sun will soften the bumps fast.

unless the weather is GREAT i think this is going to be my Plan A. Free, close to home and on their facebook page i saw some bumps in pictures from last weekend.

for the price and drive time i can't go wrong.

Plan B, if the weather forecast improves will be Magic, Mt Snow or Hunter, last minute TBD.

Exactly! Should be warm enough both days, from what I'm skiing, for some soft bumps in the afternoon. I haven't really skied Bear Trap at Mt Snow this year, I am going to try to do some laps this weekend before Sunbrook closes!

Damn you, warm months, DAMN YOU!
