Area skied: Whiteface Mountain
Date skied: December 1st, 2007 from 10:45am - 3:00pm
Surface conditions: Packed powder, hardpacked, machine made powder.
Weather: Cold and ocasionally windy, 11F at 10:45am, 13F at 3:00pm
Warren and I arrived at Whiteface a bit late after running into some dangerous snow squalls on I-91 and I-90 that made for exteremly icy roads with cars overturned or off the road.
Whiteface was much better than last friday with snow being made in several places including Upper And Lower Northway, Boreen, and Lower Cloudspin.
Our first run was down Excelsior to Boreen which is a nice gentle green trail which Warren liked alot.
Little Whiteface Summit:
Lower Cloudspin was next with soft sticky machine made powder and mini moguls. Northway had blinding snowmaking going on it and lots of loose powder snow.
Lower Cloudspin:
All told we took 4 top to bottom runs off the gondola and one run on the Face Lift HSQ.
