Many mountains are changing ownerships. Which current owner of a ski resort has owned it for the longest in New England?

1937 Gunstock
1969 Wachusett
1982 Okemo

The State of New Hampshire has always owned / operated Cannon, haven't they? That dates back to the 1930's or so I thought?

For private ownership, I'd put a vote in for the Mueller family. I think they took over Okemo in 1982.

I was going to say Hunter, but Stowe/AIG has to be in the running. Never thought of NH though...

When would you say Cannon is opened. Is it like 1933? Sounds like state owned the property since sometime after 1923.

Not so clear to me when do they considered it to be opened.

In my mind, northern New England
AIG has owned the the lifts and lodges at Stowe since 1988 but prior to that these were owned by CV Starr who was the founder of AIG. I think Starr's first investment in the Mount Mansfield Corp. goes back to after the war in 1946. He eventually bought out other stockholders like Roland Palmedo (founder of MRG) and owners of other concerns on the mountain like Sepp Ruschp (the ski school owner) and became the sole owner of all the facilities at Stowe. His estate eventually transferred ownership to AIG. If you "grandfather" ownership to Starr then you can say that Stowe has been in the same hands since '46.

Ski Blandford is the oldest continuously operated ski club owned ski area in America circa 1936.

It's a small area, but has super friendly staff and a fun atmosphere.

This is bit of a tricky question as to when a place is a "ski area".Cannon had ski trails cut in 1933 one being the first race trail in North America,Taft. The tramway was installed in 1938 and the area has been in state hands from the begining.
