Resort or Ski Area: Wildcat

Conditions: 50s, sunny, corn harvest

Trip Report:

Originally was going to hit Okemo with a buddy, but he bailed, so I opted for Wildcat instead. They have a great deal going on right now for $39 weekend lift tickets or $20 Sunday afternoon tickets. I opted for the latter wanting to sleep in a bit.

Plenty of coverage, plenty of sun, just a perfect spring day. Bumps in many places, but still a lot of groomed terrain that I'm sure was great first thing in the morning. Best bumps were on Catenary, Als, Black Cat, Panther and Chutes

As expected, great views of Washington today

Close up of the bowl. Apparently yesterday it was a mob scene over there. Plenty of cars parked on the road today. My camera doesn't quite have the zoom to see what was going on the bowl. Plenty of snow though.

Typical Boney Starrline, which was great fun

Coverage is still great out in Thompsons

Main parking lot was full. Not sure if some of it was overflow from Washington, but the place was busy. The deck was packed with folks enjoying beers and the sun. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but of my 10 trips up the quad, only one person was a pass holder. Everyone else was on a day ticket.

Probably the last weekend for Als. The only thing roped today was Hairball. Everything else was open.

Great coverage in Catacomb Glade

They easily have the snow to go for 2-3 more weekends. If the weather is like today, there is clearly a demand for the product as well. The lady at the ticket counter said they'll stay open daily through 4/19 then go with Friday - Sunday ops from there. Kinda bummed I still have vouchers to burn in Vermont. With the deals they have now, I'd just assume ski Wildcat. Such a sweet place in the spring.

Looks like some fun terrain. Also looks like you have been getting around this year.

Nice!

My wife's been dropping baby hints since last fall, so at the start of the winter I said eff it, better ski wherever I want to while I still can. ;)
