PINKHAM NOTCH, New Hampshire — Wildcat Mountain's Summer Gondola Skyride opens for the season on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 28th, 2005. The Skyride operates on weekends only until Thursday, June 16th, when it opens for Biker Appreciation Day in conjunction with the Auto Road's "Ride to the Sky". It will then operate daily through the Fall foliage in mid-October. Hours of operation are 10am - 5:00pm, with the last Gondola departing from the Base at 4:45 pm and riding non-stop back to the Base.

While Wildcat Mountain Ski Area is widely renowned for it's skiing and riding in the winter and spring, Wildcat Mountain also offers a wonderful escape for families, friends, and groups in the summer and fall seasons. Wildcat's location in the White Mountain National Forest offers unparalleled views of Mt. Washington and Tuckerman Ravine, and provides the perfect backdrop for summer fun, adventure, relaxation, and celebration.

Wildcat's Summer Gondola Skyride, NH's highest 4- passenger gondola, is a unique lift conversion, where the 6,700 foot high-speed Quad line used in the winter and spring months is converted to transport 4-passenger gondola cabins to the summit during the summer and fall seasons.

Wildcat's cafe-style restaurant, with outside deck, offers an excellent menu, including freshly made sandwich wraps and salads, and includes a Make-Your-Own-Sundae Ice Cream Bar. Family picnics and Lunch & Ride Packages are also available to bring along on your gondola skyride or hike. Beer and wine are now also available in the restaurant, offering a great stop along Route 16 as well as the perfect facility for intimate gatherings, BBQ's, and parties. The 1-mile self-guided nature walk to Thomspon Brook Falls is a popular activity, as well as a short walk along the famous Appalachian Trail which traverses Wildcat's summit. Anglers are welcome as well to fish in Wildcat Pond, stocked with trout.

Wildcat hosts events in the summertime, too. To name a few: The 14th Annual Kids Free Fishing Day sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service on Sat., June 4th; Biker Appreciation Day on Thursday, June 16th; Father's Day, Sun., June 19th, when Dads ride the gondola for FREE; and every Wednesday throughout July and August from 10am-12 noon, an interpretive program is guided by a Tin Mountain Conservation naturalist. Wildcat also hosts special events such as the reception for the Mount Washington Observatory's Seek-the-Peak Climb on Sat., July 23rd; and the Wildman Biathlon on Sat., August 13th, finishes on Wildcat's 4,062 foot summit.
