Resort or Ski Area: Windham
Conditions: packed machine-groomed
Trip Report: took advantage of online deal - $15 dollar tickets ordered 3 weeks in advance - got to the mountain at 9 am to find total power failure... apparently some critter got into a transformer and shorted it out... Fortunately, by 9:30, most everything was up and running.... This was the first time I've been to Windham in 20 years... pleasantly surprised by polite, helpful staff, no lift lines, cold but no wind - great day of skiing. My two office mates (including my supervisor) played hooky to enjoy the ticket bargain and had a blast. Some of the terrain was wind-blown and very hard-pack, bordering on ice, but very few true icy patches. Definitely worth the trip
