Went up to Windham with a buddy of mine. Got there around 10.
Really nice day. I havent been to Windham in 2 seasons and I forgot why I love the mountain.
Just a great mountain to cruise and play around on all day. Solid runs to rip down, and they left some nice little bumps (not mogul 'bumps') around on the trails that you can launch off of.
They received about 2-3inches overnight and had snowshowers throughout the day so everything was in really great shape. Alittle ice here and there when the snow would get plowed off.
Lifty even let me snag a last chair on the wonderama triple, even as he was closing it up.

You guys have to experience other mountains. IMO, Windham SUCKS..other than their lifts, but even then, the lines there are horrible and I just love the gravel in the snow. Plus good luck finding a place to sit down on a weekend...Place is WAAAYYY overrated

uhhh to each their own andrec10. What other mountains would you like me to experience? Ive been to about 17-20 different mountains on the east coast in the last 5 years. Like I said i havent been to Windham in 2 years. I had a good day, and reported it.

Seriously your negativity is such a waste.

Just to give windham its due, I find their trail layout most enjoyable. When the main face is going into shadow in the afternoon, the other side is still getting full sun. At a time when I might otherwise be having vision difficulty, it can really extend my skiing day.

It's his opinion...

I personally haven't skied there in like 8 years... I didn't like it either.. My Dad did... He and his friends loved the joint...

Just not my cup o' tea... thats all..

But you know what they say - every pot has a lid.... People are going there so they must like it... :)

Multiple aspects are definitely a good thing!

I understand its his opinion, but I think theres other ways to express it than saying "you guys need to experience other mountains" and then dumping on it in a trip report. I never said in my trip report that it was better than any other place just that I had a good day and reported on it.

If he had been there yesterday, and thought otherwise then honestly I think his opinion in this thread would be relevant.

I guess it just gets annoying after a while reading so many 'anti this mountain' posts, I feel like almost any mountain has something to it thats worth a visit.

example. Mt Peter in Warwick NY. a stunning 350ft of vertical, 10 trails. but you know what it has one of the most impressive views i have ever seen

I hear ya... I'm not really down with the anti posts either... Like I said - if they're selling tickets - it's gotta be good for someone!

It's been a frustrating year for us in the Catskills... We need some of that Jersey snow..

I hear you on that. Another major storm system... another dry week. Maybe Bill Gates can shift from hurricane reduction systems to High Pressure removal!

I was actually there on the 24th of Jan since my son had a race there. So I AM speaking from experience.
