The Second Season of the Winter Dew Tour Kicks off Dec. 18 in Breckenridge, Colorado


Burr Ridge, Ill. – July 13, 2009 – The Winter Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long winter action sports tour, today announced that Mount Snow Resort in West Dover, Vt., will host the third and final stop Feb. 5-7, 2010 of the Tour’s second season. The Winter Dew Tour showcases top winter athletes from around the world competing in freeskiing (slopestyle and superpipe) and snowboarding (slopestyle and superpipe) for both men and women. Mount Snow is a host resort for the second consecutive year on the Winter Dew Tour, which had its inaugural season in 2008-09.

All three stops of the Winter Dew Tour will be televised Live on NBC and simulcast around the world on Eurosport 2, Extreme Channel and Fox Sports Australia, with additional coverage on USA Network and MTV2.

“Mount Snow is thrilled to welcome the Winter Dew Tour back after a first year that exceeded our expectations,” said Kelly Pawlak, Mount Snow General Manager. “We are confident that our freestyle terrain parks at Carinthia will furnish athletes with a premier venue, while the Winter Dew Tour helps us to introduce our Carinthia Parks to a very large audience.”

“It was amazing to compete in my hometown and on my favorite mountain last year,” said Kelly Clark, 2008-09 Snowboard Superpipe Dew Cup champion. “It is great that the Winter Dew Tour will be coming back to Mount Snow.”

The complete 2009-10 Winter Dew Tour schedule is as follows:

Entering its second season, the Winter Dew Tour had nearly 70,000 fans experience last year’s inaugural season and an average of 26 million viewers tuned in via NBC, USA and MTV2 during 2008-09. The top athletes in the world will take part in this year’s Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded in Mount Snow, Vt. at season’s end. The ’08-’09 Dew Cup champions include Shaun White (Snowboard Pipe and Slopestyle), Kelly Clark (Snowboard Pipe), Spencer O’Brien (Snowboard Slopestyle), PK Hunder (Freeski Slopestyle) and Tanner Hall (Freeski Superpipe).

Winter Dew Tour
The Winter Dew Tour consists of three major, multi-sport events spanning across the country, with a cumulative points system, and a $1.5 million competitive purse. Each event features snowboard (superpipe and slopestyle) and freeskiing (superpipe and slopestyle) for both men and women. At season’s end, the overall point’s leaders are crowned year-end champions and awarded the prestigious Dew Cup. Unfortunately, we missed it last year. On Saturday morning of the show, both our boys were sporting 101 degree temperatures. We decided to trek back to Connecticut

I'll be expecting some serious rail moves on your part this year V with the practice facility you'll have at your doorstep :) Or atleast be able to jib an empty Heineken Mini-keg! :lol: :beer: :)

Great to have this event back in VT and showcase some potential Olympic athletes.

Exactly!! Anytime ANY VT area gets live, national TV exposure, it's good for the entire state/industry! Let's just hope that the homegrown VT athletes do just a smidge better than the non VT'ers in what I'm sure will be one of the final main prep events prior to the Olympics :) :flag:

How are those big events coming at Killington? Will we be spared a PITACF at bear mountain this year?

They couldn't fit in ANY new events, considering how much of the winter schedule is taken up by the HS National Ski-Off circuit.
