When I read the thread I thought about how I try to ski every inch of a trail...

For instance:
Looking for rollers to compress and maybe launch off... Hit the side of trail for a little fresh... Ducking just under snoguns where the snow isn't sticky.. Dropping off a nice rock.. Ducking behind a fence for some fresh.. Going up the side of a trail where the snow is against the rocks and doing an "old man" 180... Then maybe do some slolom turns using the shadows of the chairs as gates... Flipping the board around and trying to ride fakie on some flat stuff.. Dip in the bumps and cruise the troughs until the get too tight... Hit a ridge for some air with a quick indie grab thrown in...

And on the next run... :)

Another good one. We should see see how many variations we can make on the original thread.

I never thought about using the area just under the snow guns.

this sounds like how to work the various trails rather than working the mountain itself, lol, but a great variation on theme!

drop into a steep section making as many controlled turns as possible showing ultimate control while the GS rippers shot past you doing the same ole same ole. once the initial pitch flattens out, head under the lift and drop into the bumps giving the crowd a show, five foot rock drop optional depending upon available terrain. work the side of the trails for that loose snow before ducking into some unmarked woods for a quick straight line tagging some pow left over from a storm a week ago. rocket out of the woods to find a lip at a junction and hit it with all the speed you got. rocket out some high speed carves as the trail flattens out heading back to the lift.

I'll try to work a run and make it fun regardless of the conditions. I'm always on the lookout for nice bumps so I'll hit those as I see them. I'm also in search of a nice hit at a trail merge to catch some air. If it's a groomer day with limited bumps or natural snow, I like to ride the groomer lip along the trail sides or find piles of LSGR to play in. Short, snappy controlled turns like RC mentioned are the norm for me.

I'm not into getting air just yet, and I'm not proficient in the bumps, but I do like to look for the loose stuff or pow on the sides of trails to play in. I also look for spots with little natural bumps or piles of crud to work on my bump skillz. ;)
