I heard that the Italian called the guy an "Arab Terrorist" or something like that  Geesh, crazy!

Sticks and stones. Worst exit from a world class athlete on a major stage ever. When it mattered most, when it was all on the line, he had to watch from the locker room because he couldn't control himself.

Best lesson my 2 oldest boys, who both play soccer, ever learned.

Spend a lifetime developing skills, become the best player for your country, play some of the best World Cup soccer ever seen, win the MVP of the tournament, play in the championship game of the most important tournament in your sport as your last game ever...

then throw it all out the window because someone called you names. Talk about losing your cool. My boys asked me what would happen to Zidane after the red card and I told them, "He's gone, finished. His career is over, ended in infamy. And his team lost and he wasn't even able to be on the field to try to help them."

It doesn't pay to be a poor sport or to react to those who are poor sports. Shameful.

The best part of it is that his idiocy cost France the game. Good thing he's not from Colombia.

Only partly true...they survived the 2nd OT and made it to the shootout round where anything is possible. They had a solid chance to win with or without him.

But, Zidane was their best penalty shooter, so his red card probably did cost them.

According to the "expert lip reader" at the Daily Mail, who reads lips phoneticaly then translates through someone who speaks Italian, it was pretty ugly what was said. Something about Zidane being an attractive and successful African-Frenchman, and some words about his mother's job and association with political types who operate outside the normal systems.
