WTB Cross Wolf Race Tire
It's that glorious time of year again. Your 'cross bike is calling your name, but those tires are emitting more of a worn-out whisper at this point. If your average cyclocross conditions are of that muddy, sandy, dreamy sort, then you're going to want to upgrade to some rubber like the WTB Cross Wolf Tire.
WTB drew up the Cross Wolf specifically for the loosest conditions you're likely to encounter this season. See how much distance is carved out between those sharp-edged knobs? All that negative space, combined with those biting edges, has been engineered to grab onto the, shall we say, ungrabbable, whether it's the slickest mud or the deepest sand. The design sheds incredibly fast, too, so you won't wash out on that immediately forthcoming hairpin, either.
The Dual DNA rubber compound is race-specific, uniting a harder rubber down the center of the tread, for less rolling resistance on hardpack or pavement, with soft, grippier rubber on the shoulders that are slower to rebound, and thus more controllable. The Cross Wolf also employs a 60TPI casing for a great blend of durability and ride comfort, as well as WTB's TCS tubeless tire architecture, so the tire can be run as a standard tubed clincher or set-up as a tubeless tire with little effort and some sealant.
The WTB Cross Wolf Tire comes only in a 700c x 32mm size, and it weighs 360 grams.
