I am since you mentioned it; thanks for the heads up.

The X Games are weird. The board & ski events are awesome, then the other half is....flipping snowmobiles? I'd rather watch curling any day.

The commercialized, fake version of snowsports style is pretty funny. I love how the interviewers wear goggles. Planning on doing a run after the show?

Beautiful run by Bleiler...

edit: I see this interviewer isn't wearing goggles; guess that was last year. Some of the spectators are though.

I checked it out last night. Ill agree that I dont care for flipping snowmobiles, but I will say it requires about an infinite amount more athletic ability than curling.

I dont care if the announcers wear goggles, the event is more than likely sponsored by tons of ski companies. Its no different than Bode Miller wearing a logo on his helmet, or advertising at a football game. I dont get why it matters at the x games.

Interesting...I think because I ski alot I get kind of bored watching skiing or boarding on TV, unless it's moguls.

So I kind of seek out the offbeat things like flipping snowmobiles, MTB jumping with spiked tires, etc. Just like at the regular winter Olympic games I'll seek out bobsled, skeleton, luge, ski jumping, and other stuff I rarely get to see.

First time watching Snowmobile Freestyle. I enjoyed the blase' tone the announcers had about the tricks: "He didn't get very good distance coming out of that backflip, but we really shouldn't dog him..."

I also liked the phrase, "tackled by the sled" for getting run over -- like the snowmobile is a middle linebacker or something.

Saw a bit of the pipe stuff. I'll watch tonight again.

I have yet to meet anyone else who can watch it, follow it, and actually use curling terms.

Go to a sports bar in Canada and you'll be sure to find kindred souls! I was surprised to see people watching a match and cheering like it was a football game.

I'm afraid I'm not up on the lingo other than "HARD! HARD!" but I find it strangely fascinating.

I guess it's just not "extreeeeme" enough for the X-Games. Maybe someone should market it as Extreme Concentration.

I only saw the snow mobile jumper slam into the landing ramp. I really wonder why what some of the aspen-ites think about the x-games being in their posh little town.

Tanner Hall's fall in the superpipe looked worse than it was last night I think, but I really thought Simon Dumont's last run should have won it (fell one point short... Tanner Hall's best was 95.0 and Dumont's was 94.0 I believe).

I just put it on now that the Detroit game is ending. This flipping snow mobiles is a little rediculous.

I haven't been skiing at all this year so far, but going in two weeks for the weekend. Thought I would check out the boards which I also haven't visited in quite some time.

Ech.. this snowmobile stuff is so stupid. Of course, I would never jump 100 feet, 5 stories in the air, while backflipping on a snowmobile myself, but I personally don't think this belongs in the X-Games.

For a non-boarding skier like myself,I only really find interest in the ski/sno boarder cross (chineese downhill) event. The halfpipe doesn't do much for me as far as watching enjoyment,be it skiers or boarders competing.

I would probably watch a little bit of it if I happened to flip by while it was on. Since I don't get ESPN I don't think I'll be catching any though. I did catch the tail end of some ski jumping competition yesterday though...

HD is pretty sweet but even crystal-clear picture can't make half-pipe interesting for more than three runs.

I can only watch a few "540 mctwistie, fakie-to-knicknack paddy-wacks" before flipping the channel.
