Looks like Tahoe from what I've found, yes search engine churning

There may be others besides the one I stumbled on...as that's not it. Tahoe doesn't really count, because a September snow event there is not completely out of the norm. Think in terms of the ridiculous!

Mammoth..winter storm watch..maybe snow in the southern California mountains..ie Big Bear Snow Summit..am I right?

God dammit. I was hoping for somebody other than the post counter to win this. Yup. You guys actually got real close from the get go with Tahoe and Vegas. Big Bear lake is only about 3 hours outta Vegas. So yeah, it's going to snow on LA's "local" hill. I figured Lambrogini would get it when he tuned in because I think it's his home resort. It's not just going to snow on the mountain, but in the town, and below! Ridiculous! It's going to be colder there than it typically is in the dead of winter! http://www.bensweather.com/ :snow:

was in LA all week and the weathermen were saying snow above 6,000' which is unheard of that far south.

I know, thus my thread. Was it cold in LA itself or is the wierdness just confined to the mountains? It was actually a lucky break for Bear Lake because they had a forest fire nearby which got knocked down by the cold temps and precip...
