Made an impromptu trip out to Mammoth and had an absolute blast. 60s and sunny everyday and tons of snow and terrain still open. Chair 23 laps satisfied my lack of sunny spring bumps back east.

50. 5/25/25 Palisades Tahoe

Hit up Palisades on the last day to be closer to the airport in Reno. Not as much terrain open but Granite Chief area was a lot of fun and they had a ribbon open down to the village. Want to get back here when everything is open.

Overall a really fun weekend and a true close out to the season for me hitting 50 days on the dot.
What a great way to close out the season! One of my friends was there closing weekend as well. He said the whole Granite Cheif area was still pretty much open.

We skied Mammoth and Palisades in July six summers ago. Mammoth still had the whole upper mountain open which was insane for July, Palisades had their Gold Coast and Shirley sections opened at that time.

I have since been back to Palisades to ski the whole mountain and I still prefer the Mammoth experience I had off of the Gondola and Chair 23 over the KT-22 and Red Dog chairs at Palasides. Mammoth is a special place and one of the top expert mountains to ski. Too bad it's such a pain in the butt for East coasters to get to. Congrats on making it out there!
