East Basin Chair at Loon

I was a much younger child at the time, got launched at the loading area and flew into the snow bank thing, My skis fell off.

Twas a long line there too that day for some reason. I felt like "that kid that stopped the chair". This was before the Northpeak express quad was added btw.

A number of years ago I was at Silver Mountain in Idaho. It was during the spring andd the mountain was almost empty midweek. It was pretty warm and the snow was on the slushy side

As the day went on I skied over to a remote section of the mountain serviced by an ancient double chairlift. The snow was great over there and there was no one anywhere I could see. I got to the base and the old timer running the lift yells welcome to the jackass lift. I said thanks and How you doin he says great and tells me to be careful and get way right when I load. I step what I think is far enough right and then I get smacked in the ass by the center pole of the smallest double chair I've ever been on. I struggle upright and get my cheeks on the seat and cling onto the center pole. As I'm going up I hear the old time yelling "Thats why we call it the Jack Ass lift, while laughing his butt off."

I lapped that lift for a few runs after I figured it out and had a few more laughs with the old SOB.

Never had a really bad experience, but it's funny this thread is going on, as yesterday I was on Barker at Sunday River about 3:50-3:55, right before closing when the lift broke down. Didn't get off the mountain until 4:40, but the sunset at the top was neat so I don't think I can call it a bad experience.

Worst was getting stuck on the quad at Snowbasin overnight with some friends and then getting chased by wolves after we jumped off.
