    Tips for Whistler

We stayed at Creekside for a week. It suits our low key style, yet was very comfortable, very short walk to the lift. We cooked most of our meals, but there was a couple options for nice dinners as well as the usual pub stuff at the bottom of the lift. Now w the peak to peak gondola I don't...

Advice On Getting A Child's Ski Mojo Back

Brutal stories....mild concussion and broken arm. Sounds like the ski bus might save the day, though. Sometimes these young girls put their social lives in front of their actual preferences for activities. My 14 yo daughter slowly ended all her activities except dance, the only sport she...

Jay Peak Drops Lift Ticket Prices

We have 2 trips planned to Jay so far, hoping we like it. Cheaper lift tickets certainly won't hurt.

What new places will ya hit this year 2012-2013?

Rotarun ?????? Really ????? You left Soldier Mtn off that list. I'd pare it down to Jackson and GT, myself and Pine Creek since you went out of the way to ski it. SV is "nice" but JH and GT are pretty stiff competition.

Lots of good closeout deals at REI. Paid $62 for last years Gira G10, for instance.

    Your 2011 / 2012 Ski Season Recap

Made the move back to skiing after a 5 year lay off. It was big fun as always. Committed to Jay Peak next season, got new boots, new skis, and a determination to have the most fun possible while still taking care of business. I'm sure it will be an adventure. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Willis giving away resort?

It's not a resort, it's in the middle of nowhere, and Sun Valley which is w/in an hour's drive dwarfs it in every respect.

    Next year's plan....comments please.

Well it's not like we'll be giving up much in terms of alternate activities. The places to stay are nice enough and not outrageously expensive. It will be good just to "get away" for a few days and any skiing will be a bonus.

    Next year's plan....comments please.

In my inquiries I've found condo owners have access to multiday lift tickets at 20% off and of course the resorts all bundle lift tickets and lodging so the necessity of buying passes is not so critical. I like buying the pass and getting it over with though.

    Ski town real estate

Not a matter of making money or saving money.....it's a matter of comfort. Staying in a run of mill motel w screaming kids, uncomfortable beds, and questionable restaurant food gets old quick.
