Date Skied: April 2, 2008, wednesday
Resort or Ski Area: Waterville Valley
Conditions: Variable, lots of ice, kind of windy
Trip Report:
Headed off to Waterville to use the last of the Ski NH tickets. Only skied a half day because my friend was sick. It worked out for the better though because the sun had a little time to work on some of the frozen snow. When we got to the ticket counter the lady told us that it was really icy and windy and that there were no refunds. But we had just driven from 2.5 hours from MA so we were going skiing no matter what.
Got on the lift and it didn't look too bad until we got to the middle part. Then ice everywhere. It was a plot as you go kind of day, but we managed to find a few good trails with heavier snow cover and less ice. Overall, was good because there was NOBODY there. Literally there was about 15-20 people. We would go up the lift, nobody in sight...ski down see about 4-7 people. But with sharp edges it was great, and everyone loves an empty mountain, well except for the resort owners!
