HIGHMOUNT, New York -- The weather forecasters are calling for a return of cold temperatures, and the snowmakers at Belleayre Mountain are getting ready to fire up the snow guns once again. Although Belleayre Mountain made snow earlier in the month, their opening was delayed due to a mild spell of weather. But this time it looks like they're good to go, with a scheduled opening of their 57th season on Friday, November 24th, weather and conditions permitting.

Belleayre's anticipated opening day falls on their Thanksgiving Holiday Special, with all lift tickets only $25 on November 24th. Get out on the slopes to work off some of that turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie. As an added incentive to ride and ski on opening weekend, Belleayre is offering a Buy One Now - Get One Free Later promotion. Purchase a lift ticket the weekend of November 25th and 26th, and bring that ticket back anytime during the late season, starting March 19th, 2007, and get a free lift ticket of equal value. Midweek passes will also be accepted seven days a week through December 3rd.

Saturday, November 25th, Belleayre Mountain's Rail Jam kicks off the season-long Terrain Park Jam Series. The rail park will be set up on the lower half of the Wanatuska trail, and will be open to practice on throughout the day. The competition itself will begin at 5 pm, with a DJ out on the slopes to keep the excitement level high. Competitors are required to purchase a lift ticket, which will be discounted to $25 when they register between 9 - 11 am. The cost to compete is only $10, which includes an event t-shirt and a chance to win cash prizes for the top skier and snowboarder. The public is invited to join in the fun free of charge, with the movie premiere of "Retrospect" from Tuckered Out Films at 4 pm, and live band "Call It A Night" performing until 9 pm.
