The best: Feb 25-26th at Sugarbush (South). It snowed a lot leading up to and throughout the weekend. About 2 feet in total, if I remember correctly. Not much of a base before the new snow except at the way upper elevations, but everything was open, and it was lots of fun skiing Castlerock on albeit thin cover, and skiing the woods off of Paradise.

Runner up: Dec. 23-24th (I think) at Jay. Everything but The Face and Staircase was open. Suprisingly good coverage, and actually, perhaps the best coverage I had this season overall. Lots of fun in the glades. Stuff poking through in most of the glades, especially Deliverance and Everglade (Valhalla, on the other hand, was very well covered, IIRC), but still very skiable and fun. Got to ski Green Beret, River Quai, Powerline, and Lift Line, which were all enjoyable, even if there were some obstacles to avoid in a few places. I do need to make it back to ski The Face and Staircase.

Best ski day this year? Hmm.... I guess that would be a tie between the two chest-deep powder days at Jackson Hole. Even the locals said it was the best conditions they had seen! :)

March 19-20 at Sugarbush. Finally felt like mid winter - big snowfall late in the week, 3+ inches fresh each day, great cover all over the mountain, cold temps and being late in the season no lift lines.

Yesterday, 4-7-06, Skied Sunday River in the am, conditions great, no body there. Skied right on the lifts all day. After I got home, went to the hospital and was there when my first grandchild was born! How can you beat a day like that? A little girl, Addison Belle Guptill 8lbs, 2 ozs, 20.25 inches long. Everyone is healthy and very happy!!!

4/2 at Jay Peak.

The fact that it was my first time skiing there made the
trip exciting too. I think the last time I visited a new mountain
in New England was Sugarloaf back in 1994.

Beside this trip, 13 days at Wachusett, 2 days at Sunapee was
all we did this season. Not much of a variety  It didn't help
that my son got his appendix removed a week before the school
vacation week.
