According to the long range models, its a real possibility.

Nothing will beat skiing on Halloween Last year at Killington in three feet of pow in the woods except doing it three week earlier! Wouldnt that be nice.

if I could figure out how to put the images into this post, i would

So, are the old folklore indications looking good, like wooley bears, height of bees nests, squirrels gather nuts in odd fashions?

I'm already noticing leaves changing and birds flocking. What else is up that you've noticed??

You can just give us the URL and we can check it out on our own will...or you could name the source and we could Google it.

You guys do understand that pretty much every time in the last 10 years we have had a good early season the rest of the year has been pretty terrible.

I predict it will snow some this ski season, maybe alot on a few days.

During the day it'll be light, dark at night.

As the season comes to a close, it'll warm up and the snow will melt.

And I agree with Austin...everytime it snows early and everyone gets all hyped up, the rest of the season sucks.

These prediction threads I can do without.

1995-1996 and 2002-2003 great early season, great years

and last year, while it wasnt a great season in terms of consistency, there were plenty of storms and plenty of opportunities for great pow

End of October at Kmart, thanksgiving everywhere, early-mid december, several storms in February, lots of action in Maine all year, lots of Lake Effect dumps at Jay and further south

IMO, the weather we're getting now signifies an early start. Here in the Worcester hills, they're saying maybe 60 tomorrow and low 40s tomorrow night. The first single day that happened last year was in late September, and it never did it consistently till mid November. This 60/40 stuff is supposed to last till Saturday, then maybe make a return next week.

im voting late winter this year. Graduating in december and moving to jeffersonville, vermont days later...I would rather not have to travel for the season.
