That's nice, still won't help too many be able to ski this season in Vermont. He needs to back off restrictions even more as cases drop and highest risk VT population becomes vaccinated IMHO. But they won't.
What sort of restriction you're thinking off should be dropped to allow more people to ski in Vermont?

as has been my opinion all along, I'm guessing the restrictions are so tight as they are expecting a number of people to follow the rules and a number of folks to not follow the rules. If there is a net "decrease" in out of staters then they have therefore reduced the risk.

If they were serious about it they've try to enforce it and by all acounts they arent.

Start with allowing people with a negative test to no longer require any quarantine.
It's a step in that direction alright. Not sure that'll make a difference in terms of "more people" being able to ski in VT. How often would you go if you need to get a Covid test each time?

Me? None I don’t ski in Vt. Regularly

I do know 3 families that normally go to Vt for their yearly family ski vacation that went to NH and ME instead.

The linked study was for a single dose regimen. 85% effective 15-28 days after the ONLY dose
My point was that phizer requires 21 days from dose one to get dose 2 plus seven days (as now required by vt) equals 28 days, the long end of the 15-28 day range with just one.
If it takes 28 days to get to 85% on one dose you might as well get 2. You will get to vt with 85% effectiveness on the same day.

As mentioned in the OP, new policy is 14 days, post 2nd dose (not 7).

Any further reduction in days makes a difference for those looking to get late season visits in.

At the least. VT's restrictions have been tough not just to keep actual infections low, but to protect the limited number of hospital beds they have in state. As their most likely to become hospitalized populations become vaccinated, that is a lesser concern and should allow less restrictive travel. I would like to see them join ME and NH and allow unrestricted travels across the 3 Northern NE states (ME and NH do that now). After all, a large chunk of their population actually rely and have used a Hospital faacility in NH. Share and share alike I say.

For perspective there are roughly 800 total hospital beds in VT.

Per Gov Scott's COVID update on Friday, there are 37 people hospitalized for COVID in VT 13 of which are in an ICU bed currently.

As more and more of the "high risk" population gets vaccinated in the not too distant future, the potential strain on VT hospital facilities will decrease. As that happens, one should expect to see further decreases in the restrictions in place

Good point.

As it's becoming more clear it's just random decision, with not much relation to the underlying science, it makes me feel more like ignoring it in its entirety.

(the difference of the restriction is very minor to me. 14 days of pre-travel quarantine, which is not too hard to do. Then stay up there for a few weeks. But I just suddenly found I lost all motivation to follow the new rule seeing how baseless the new rules is)

In my humblest of opinions this will have a greater effect that some here realize. Not a large effect, but certainly noticeable. Tons of skiers are those who are 65yo+. The same who are getting vaccinated first. Tons of skiers are also blatantly disregarding the VT quarantine restrictions...the few who are are those who I would suspect have legitimate health concerns that COVID would pose a serious threat to them. They're getting vaccinated early as well.

Killington is blowing pretty damn deep and their spring pass is for sale.

Almost every weekend. I have gotten 3 COVID tests free of charge for various reasons and no insurance needed and there are commercials on TV urging people to get tested. I would schedule a test every week.
