Right where I want to be
I have to do that when I skin or hike above lifts too. Heck, skinning you have to take off and put back on twice before going down again 🤣🤣
Agree but that is your choice to skin or boot pack. I do both but that isn’t the point. I would rather take a lift over a gondola or tram if the option is available.

Not a New Hampshire taxpayer but one thing that has struck me looking back on pictures of the Tram. It travels at much greater height then most gondolas (I know Ajax and Whistler have high ones). But the view is spectacular as it goes up especially for the summer tourists. I don't know I'm older and a little nostalgic but to me a tram belongs there. I rode the original and this 2nd version too, I know I'm going to miss it when I get there this winter.

This is one of my favorite pics of the Tram taken by my son as he set off down DJ’s. Winter 14-15.

The new Cannon Trail Map. No Tram on it. That looks so weird.

I wonder if there’ll will ever be a new tram

What do you know that we don't? $27 million budgeted. Next year determining what can be reused of the existing infrastructure.

Obviously, nothing is 100% certain, a meteor could smash into the notch tomorrow, but the tram replacement process seems well underway.

Is that enough money?

I know nothing except the bid was made 2 years ago and wasn't accepted. I don't expect the costs have gone down since the original request for bids.

Not close. Probably going to need at least 10 mill more, maybe double by the time you tack on the lodge upgrades.

There aren't a ton of comps, but Jackson spent 31 mill (with no lodge upgrades etc, and kept the old tram to make installation easier) 20 years ago. Mind you that was 55% over budget (original budget of 20 million).

That said, it is 100% worth it in my opinion.

They don't even know the scope of the project yet. The $33 million bid depended on reusing towers. It's uncertain now if the towers can be reused.

Do you have a source for that? Everything I've read indicated the $33 million bid was a whole new tram. NOT reusing the towers. Subsequent to the bid being over budget, they're looking to reuse parts.
