They just opened all of the Valley House terrain including Stein's. Also open are Waterfall and Hotshot, Sleeper, etc. Yesterday's snow was not dense. I did Murphy's today and it really hadn't changed from yesterday. More wind slab, yes. Got to be really light on your feet and watch where you're going.

I think Killington works best as an independent also, but the statement above is just pure conjecture on their part.
If you listen to the podcast you'll hear that the context was that if Killington as a part of a conglomerate then all of its profits would be invested in other resorts. That was the larger point. Now that revenue is staying there.

And apparently they are starting on the village in the next year or so (?) Believe it when I see it.

They need to cover Downspout. That has to be next IMHO. Whether - and what - they can double up with that I do not know.

Snow report shows the snow-making icon on Downspout, so I have to imagine that is exactly the plan (I see no sign of anything active on the webcam from either Allyn's or HG, so presume it is being switched to at some point this evening).

Fewer skiers overall and the lift capacity aid in keeping it nicer.

Didn't they also open later? That gave the snow a bit more chance to settle in before being skied. Meanwhile it seemed like SB was dropping ropes much earlier than they perhaps should have. I like them being lenient and dropping ropes quickly, but I also think there are times they'd be better off allowing more time for snow to settle a bit on trails. Part of me says if they had a better snow-making system and could expand those trails faster, that would take some of the pressure off to open trails on only natural snow so quickly...

Regardless of when MRG opens, it gets skied and ridden extensively ahead of that date. Human groomin' does the trick

The guns are now blowing on Downspout, Lower DS, Lower Jester and it says Gondolier as anticipated in the above post. After that I hope they do Ripcord but maybe it will be Sleeper. We will see. I am planning on joining the Friday Ski Club this week. YAY!!!

Yes. From what I have seen they have blown Rim Run, Elbow, Crusier, Which Way and strait Shot. I am not sure about Looking Good and FIS but they are in great shape to open right now top to bottom. Even the natural snow trials are in good shape because they haven't been hammered buy the masses. Only the lucky smart people!

Looks like snow-making shutdown with the past hour or so. Low on water? Or GMP curtailment coming up?
