Pre-open morning report I read before heading to mountain Wednesday was 6”. They updated it later in the day to 8” because it snowed 2”. So my guess is they misstated today’s report that they got 5-6” “overnight”, where it was actually “since yesterday mornings report”.Ok, so they reported 8" yesterday morning. Claiming 5-6 overnight - bringing them to.. 12" in the last 48 hours?
They can't even add correctly. At least they cleared off the mid-mountain snow stake properly!![]()
No "State of the Mountain" since Mid-January. I really, really do not like the people running this mountain. The patrollers, lifties and mechanics I have huge respect for.
And Sugarloaf: they had their main lift down for a while (along with a transformer issue affecting snowmaking), their GM posted detailed updates.Sugarbush needs to start taking lessons from their neighbor to the south. This is how you write a blog post about mountain ops topics: https://www.killington.com/the-moun...log/snowmaking-during-an-extended-cold-front/
I don't disagree, but measuring and reporting snowfall is one of the easiest, most transparent things you can do. They have webcams and presumably a ruler as backup. Perhaps my dissapointment with their lift/communication issues is spilling over into their snow report, but that kind of ties into their communication issues.Pre-open morning report I read before heading to mountain Wednesday was 6”. Splitting hairs. Lots of snow, skiing great, go ski.
MRG never misses either as far as reporting honestyI don't disagree, but measuring and reporting snowfall is one of the easiest, most transparent things you can do. At least it's not at the Jay Peak level of chicanery (yet).
Stowe is setting the bar for honest, timely snow reporting.

"Money Hold"?Oh, and "Slide Brook is closed for the day". That's it. Too bad. Would have been a nice day to ride the carnival ride and ski CR.

The more I see of John the more I think that he is just a man of few words.....which is hard coming on the heels of Win.Ha that provides “no inside the mountain” information. Anyone on this blog could have written it.
Bleh, Hammond, or both? The more I see of John the more I think that he is just a man of few words.....which is hard coming on the heels of Win.

I think I saw some copy/pasting from the snow reportHa that provides “no inside the mountain” information. Anyone on this blog could have written it.
