Some very hostile winds at Ellen this arvo, though it did seem to blow some snow out of the woods and onto which way, which was quite OK. Nothing too scoured as it was mostly a cross gale.

Ok, so they reported 8" yesterday morning. Claiming 5-6 overnight - bringing them to.. 12" in the last 48 hours?

They can't even add correctly. At least they cleared off the mid-mountain snow stake properly! 😜
Pre-open morning report I read before heading to mountain Wednesday was 6”. They updated it later in the day to 8” because it snowed 2”. So my guess is they misstated today’s report that they got 5-6” “overnight”, where it was actually “since yesterday mornings report”.

Splitting hairs. Lots of snow, skiing great, go ski.

Anyone have insight as to what was going on with slidebrook? Sugarbush’s lift network is starting to really fall apart. Lots of lifts approaching maturity at the same time…

I don't disagree, but measuring and reporting snowfall is one of the easiest, most transparent things you can do. They have webcams and presumably a ruler as backup. Perhaps my dissapointment with their lift/communication issues is spilling over into their snow report, but that kind of ties into their communication issues.
At least it's not at the Jay Peak level of chicanery (yet).
Stowe is setting the bar for honest, timely snow reporting.

MRG never misses either as far as reporting honesty

Another short stint at ME before reality struck and I had to head home. Which Way as nice as I have ever seen. Exterminator was ridiculously fun, as was Walt's. Finished with Lower FIS again after a screamer down Rim Run...what a hoot. What a gorgeous day to be outside, ahead off the masses, though it was busy for Mt. Ellen on a Friday.

Get out and get it!

No "State of the Mountain" since Mid-January. I really, really do not like the people running this mountain. The patrollers, lifties and mechanics I have huge respect for.

You asked. State of the Mountain 2/13/26 is up. And it's... breathtaking.

Ha that provides “no inside the mountain” information. Anyone on this blog could have written it.
The more I see of John the more I think that he is just a man of few words.....which is hard coming on the heels of Win.

Wow, that was awful.

"100% of trails and lifts"

I'm going to hold them to that. I don't want to see any "Slide Brook is closed for the day" at 1:36pm.
