so i have been thinking about this for a few days. when i do business i like to do it with people that have common interests with or some kind of cennection to. like when i needed some core drilling done on one my job sites i called other people that i do business with to see if there was anyone they where friends with that could use the business. or when i needed to get some steel i-beams up on the roof i called someone my father has insured for years and he directed me to a friend of his that did non union jobs.
i always like to find new avenues of generating business and helping find solutions for others that are like minded. its like small town business on a larger scale. other clubs like the rotory or the masons all have some sort of business directory so that you can do business with people you have a conection to.

do others on the board have small business or work for companies that they like to support?

would people be interested in such a thing?

do people like to keep this seperated from the business they do?

is it possible do such a thing here on AZ?

this is just one of those millions of thought i have durring the day. i have a ton of ideas but if there is no interest i would just leave it alone.

No..I'm proud to sell tombstones for a family business but I don't think my boss would appreciate me posting the name of the company online and offering an AZ discount..but if I worked for a ski shop or something it could be different. I used to be a part of a young professionals club so I understand the concept. But others might be interested..

Slippery slope

My brother lost a very good job once from blogging on the internet. He was one of the project managers in charge of the Hudson River watershed clean up project that is going on because of pollution from GE factories north of Albany. GE is paying for the project to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. The project has been stalling forever. On some message board someone was bitching about all the delays and blaiming GE. My brother corrected him as it really is the EPA holdimg things up. Well, somehow word got to the higher ups at GE regarding his comments and they were able to figure out it was him through other conversations on the board that it was my brother and GE demanded that he was removed from his post with the environmental consulting company that was overseeing the project. This happened even though he was blogging in support of GE. Six figure gig lost over an internet blog.

Ever since this has happened, I'm fairly conservative with most personal information on the net. I actually sometimes feel I should be even more conservative just in case.

im not talking about advertising. more like i need a dentist or i want to install a home theater or i need some baby meet. where would you look to for answers kinda like a referall network for us snow sliders i wouldn't think it would be a conflict if has nothing to do with outdoor activities. plus im talking about add but a simple database of you does what. it might be usefull it might not. it just poped in to my head.

actually at&t is on my shit list right now. i can not believe how many calls i drop a day and atlest once or twice a month i have not internet on my phone. well thats not tru it will download a quarter of the page then i will get a server error. i think my blackjack 2 is somewhat defective.
