So Wed. afternoon i was talking to a race coach and he told me that the adult beer league started the next night. So I decided to go and join up.

Tonight was the first race of the year. I did not sign up on a team, but will be put on one. Fine by me, as I don't know anybody racing.

Other than a skier cross race last winter I have never raced in my life, not even NASTAR, I am pretty cheap when i go skiing.

The course set up was very good. Awesome snow, hard and fast, but no ice, and even last person down could really dig in.

During my run I clipped one of the gates pretty hard with my shoulder and it sent me pretty wide, and I was trying to play catch up. To make one of the gates had to scrub lots of speed right before the flat section. In the end my time was about 5.5 seconds off of the pacesetter's time. That was good enough for 10th out of 34 racers. not bad for a first time, and still have lots of room to improve.

Just wish I had started this years ago!

One of my favorite runs and one of the only ones I really like there. Its nice they run the Grand Slam chair at night. Its mucho warm compared to the summit.
