Looking to demo some fat skis (90s underfoot and up). Do you know of any resorts or shops near resorts in New England that have them?
I think I missed all the demo days this year.
Thanks!

Pretty hard to find. One of the shops on the Stowe access road had a respectable selection. Jay has a good selection too. Firsttrax might have some boards. That is all I know of first hand. Overwhelming majority of shops don't have fat demos unfortunately. Seems like the NoVT is your best bet either on the mountain or on the access roads.

If you want something with proper width, Vermont North at the bottom of the Sugarbush Access Rd., Alpine Options further up and the Bullwheel Shop at Sugarbush all have good skis. Selection may be limited at this time of year, as sales have begun. You should be able to find some fun though. I saw some tip-rocker skis in Alpine Options yesterday and I know that the other two shops have bigger rides available too.

Tuesday in the Mad River Valley. Legend Pro Riders, 100mm underfoot. Nicely floatatious.

Iride in Stowe has the DPS lotus 130s....reverse camber/sidecut/130underfoot/carbon=really light for a ski so fat.

Thanks guys. All those shops are within the realm and reach of my adventure. I don't mind paying to demo. I consider it a worthy dating investment before marriage ;) I just have to start getting Goldilocks some experience under my belt - too short, too long, too fat, too skinny, too rigid, too soft and finally, just right. I'm getting on in years, so I don't have the strength to muscle skis around the way I used to. This is a follow on to a thread about a month ago when we talked about fat skis for east coast skiing.

bill after doing a few laps with you i would suggest you start looking at something that has normal sidecut/camber under foot with rocker at the tip and tail. it would be a ski that allows you to get around the mountain and be pretty happy in the woods.

Any specific models in mind? Not sure I know what "normal" is or what a rocker is though. Even though I'm an engineer by early training I really don't study skis too much, just like to have fun.
