I actually have two.

The first is the old T-Bar at now-defunct Bobcat Ski Center in the Catskills. It was a LONG T-bar ride, up a beautiful lift line. In fact, I found a picture from 2002 (IIRC):

My other favorite is not in New England. It's the Storm King detachable pomalift at Copper Mountain. It's 600fpm poma ride, all above tree line. Pretty cool stuff!

I always enjoyed the Poma at Burke.

Old rope tows were always fun. I miss those days.

Love the two T-bars at Bobcat! Also looking forward to riding the pomas up at Hickory this year.

Do ya miss the gloves/mittens you used to sacrifce to them? ; - )

LOL! Those things did shred some gloves. Although, back in the late 80's, they did have some pretty burly leather ski gloves on the market.

I wish they would do the Killington/Pico interconnect with surface lifts and open it as a tree skiing mecca.

Top 4

1) The upper mountain poma at the now back from the dead Hickory Ski area in NY (the launch on that lift was 2nd to none!)

2) The Lord's Prayer J-bar at Bromley - I have many fond memories of riding that lift practically all day long as me and some of my friends lapped the Nastar Course growing up

3) The Apollo Magic Carpet at Mount Snow - the 1st lift I ever rode with BOTH my kids

4) The old J-bar at the four season ski area outside of Syracuse - the 1st lift I ever rode back in December of '79 :)

Haven't done many, but do like them every once in awhile. Won't say it's my favorite, but gotta love the F10 Carpet at Okemo. It allows you to avoid the two excruciatingly slow and boring South Ridge Quads. Now I haven't been there in years so for all I know, the quads may have changed.

yeah good stuff. also used to really like the t-bar at plattekill. don 't know if they still use it. but both (platte & bobcat) t-bars provided about 1000 ft of vertical. i've ridden storm king at copper but the t-bar in horseshoe bowl at breck is quite a ride. over 1200' and very steep.

back on bobcat, wish some a-zoner w/bux would buy the place and reopen it. t-bars only and minimal snowmaking. open fri-sun. think there could be a market for a place like that now as lots of folks want a more natural ski experience. not as tough as plattekill but great terrain. has anyone recently hiked/skinned/skied the place?

Always loved the T-bar's at Greek. As a kid we'd yell, "give me the rocket" as the liftie would hold that T compressing the spring all the way then launching us forward. That shit ws always cool. Also, stayed wayyyyy warmer on those cold nights of ski club staying closer to the ground surrounded by trees.

We also had a rope tow where I went to college---glove eater!!!

beat me to it. It was waaaay scarier going up then skiing down giant killer. that thing was N-U-T-S.

the other one i used to love were the old poma's at okemo, before the quads went in to haul you out of the base area. You could pull back on them and launch yourself about 5 feet in the air. We used to throw backscratchers and other stupid little airs, much to the dismay of the other poma riders.

Beat me to that one. Besides some nice airs , I also saw a lot of faceplants from attempted airs! Also saw some "line clearing" when someone would have an attention lapse, catch an edge and go down taking out a skier or three behind them.
