My gf and i are flying into Ct on Dec 30, i know with the holiday weekend things are insanely priced, we are looking to go to 2 out of these 3, okemo, stratton , or mt snow and will have a rental car and dont mind driving 10-15min to either of these from a possible lodging site. Slopeside lodging prices are insane, are there any reasonable places that are half decent within these 3 ski areas even for a holiday weekend for lodging prices that anyone knows of? I always day tripped vermont so i have never stayed there when i was living in Ct.. Any advise would help were pretty wide open as to staying anywhere as long as its not 300 a nite and or a dump?

We used to stay at this place for a few days between Christmas and New Year's Eve. It's in Chester, about 15 - 20 minutes from Okemo and 20ish to Stratton. Closest area to Chester is Magic. Your GF will like this place. It was reasonably priced and usually had rooms at that time. We haven't been there in at least 7 years so I don't know if that still holds true.

One thing to take into account, there will be lots of traffic going through Ludlow to and from Okemo. Best to go early and either leave early or stay and have some drinks and appetizers.

no reasonable lodging around stratton but good options around mt snow & ok ones around okemo...

good place to start - mt snow lodging suggestions

ya i saw that website, honestly stratton and okemo are probably gonna be the 2 choices for this particular trip.

If you don't mind sharing a house, look into joining a ski club with a lodge.

Danbury Ski Club has a lodge in Weston, 15 minutes from Okemo, 25 from Stratton, 45 from Mt. Snow. A family membership is $70/year and lodging is $25/night/member: http://www.dsc.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=607388&module_id=82050

Sterling Ski Club has a lodge in Brattleboro (1/2 hour from Mt. Snow, 1/2 hour from Stratton) and a ski-in/ski-out lodge on the side of Mt. Ellen. First year membership is $95/adult (including a $35 initiation fee, which goes away after year one) and lodging is $20/night: http://www.sterlingskiclub.org/lodges.html

Neither club has a residency requirement, and they both welcome out-of-state members.

The bonus of a lodge: instant ski and drinking buddies. The downside: The place might be pretty packed on a holiday weekend. It all comes down to how thrifty you are. If you have any questions about either club, PM me, as I have connections with both.

Many years ago I used to go to the Frog's Leap (Then Highland House) with my parents for dinner & remember it being quite nice.

If you decide to stay there check in with the Magic crew before you set on skiing a certain mountain. If the snow is good Magic is right down the road, it's very laid back, has great skiing for all abilities, & we will show you around.
